Abstract

It is generally believed that nutrition and food intake are closely related to the efficiency and productivity of workers. It is also believed that lack of adequate food for prolonged periods results in lethargy and sluggishness and also reduces physical endurance. Accident rates and rates of absenteeism have been reported to be high among malnourished subjects.

In this publication, proceedings of a symposium dealing with the nutritional and biochemical consequences of protein cross linking held in 1976 have been published. The symposium was sponsored by the Protein Sub-division of the Division of the Agricultural and Food Chemistry of the American Chemical Society. Abstract

The book entitled "On the Biology of Learning" produced by Karl H. Pribram is a collection of five essays written by eminent scientists in the field of brain research and behavioural sciences. They deal with the neurophysiology and biochemistry of learning processes. The authors have tried to explore areas not yet open to objective analysis. The style and presentation of the data make contemplative reading possible and the book is liberal in its references. The topics covered include innate bases of learning, anatomical and biochemical aspects of learning and memory, consciousness and some recent advances in brain research.
